Daniel Witcher, DDS

Daniel Witcher, DDS Dr. Witcher currently serves as the President for SDCDF. Dr. Witcher is an Oral and Maxillofacial surgeon practicing with Coastal Oral and Facial Surgery in Solana Beach. He has extensive volunteer experience, having founded the UOP Dental School’s Project Homeless Connect outreach program, as well as participating as a volunteer surgeon for California Care Force, CDA Cares, Pacific Dental Mission in Fiji, and Smiles International Foundation in Tecate, Mexico. Dr. Witcher also served in the US Navy, is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and a member of the California Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (CALAOMS), American Dental Association, California Dental Association, and San Diego County Dental Society (SDCDS). He currently serves on the editorial board for Facets, the SDCDS newsletter, and volunteers as adjunct faculty at the UCSD Student Run Free Dental Clinics, the John Geis Dental Clinic at Veteran’s Village San Diego, and Saint Leo’s Dental Clinic.

Coleman Meadows, DDS

Coleman Meadows, DDS Dr. Meadows currently serves as the Treasurer for SDCDF. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan and the University of Texas School of Dentistry. He joined the United States Navy after dental school and was stationed at Naval Medical Center San Diego, where he completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry. Dr. Meadows then spent two years as the Dental Officer Afloat onboard the USS MAKIN ISLAND, an assault aircraft carrier stationed in San Diego, including a deployment to the Persian Gulf for WESTPAC 2014-2015. He is a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and the Academy of General Dentistry, and is active in advocating for oral health issues at the state and local levels, through the California Dental Association and the San Diego County Dental Foundation. He is also a member of the Spear Study Club, as well as the Patriots Study Club for Navy and military veterans.

Laura Maly

Laura Maly serves as the Secretary for SDCDF. Ms. Maly is the Co-Founder of Wonderist Agency, a marketing agency that works exclusively with Dentists as well as Your Virtual Consult, a software product that connects dentists to prospective patients via video. The birth and growth of Wonderist Agency has been a wild ascent and has motivated Laura to give back to the community around her. She is honored to serve on the Board of Directors for the San Diego County Dental Foundation and is looking forward to a bright future. Laura’s other efforts within the community include the Junior League of San Diego, animal rescue, female entrepreneurship and leadership endeavors, supporting foster youth, and the arts. When she isn’t spending her time at Wonderist Agency or living out her philanthropic passions, you may find her with her husband Michael and their dogs, doing yoga, eating her way through San Diego, or traveling the world.

Leslie Strommer, DDS

Leslie Strommer, DDS Dr. Strommer practices general dentistry at Isabella Avenue Dentistry in Coronado. She has served on the Continuing Education committee for the San Diego County Dental Society. She is a co-founder of Dentistry for Humanity which is an organization whose mission is to inspire dentists to use their technology to improve access to dental care to those in need within our community. Dr. Strommer has served on the foundation board for 7 years and has been a participant in the Smiles for Life Campaign for 15 years benefitting children’s charities and the San Diego Youth Services. She is currently a member of the Crown Council, ADA, CDA, SDCDS, and is a Kois Center graduate and mentor.

Sherry Mostofi, Esq.

Sherry Mostofi, Esq. serves as the legal counsel for the SDCDF. Sherry graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from UCLA and earned her law degree from the Yale Law School. Her firm, Mostofi Law Group, Inc., provides legal counsel to dental professionals throughout California each year. Sherry is a speaker for the California Dental Association, dental societies throughout California, as well as at UCLA and USC dental schools and residency programs. She is also a member of the Irvine Public School Foundation Board of Trustees and provides pro bono legal services for the Alliance for Children’s Rights and The Innocence Project. Sherry is married to a dentist in private practice and has two children. 

Gene St. Louis, CEO

Gene St. Louis is a nationally recognized expert in dental practice management. She built her company from the ground up, holding both clinical and administrative positions prior to her consulting career. Having participated in the day-to-day operations of dental practices gives Gene a unique insider advantage of how offices succeed. Clients feel confident with her first-hand experience that translates into relatable, personable, and reliable expertise. Gene has worked with hundreds of clients nationwide. She writes for a variety of dental publications and is regularly invited to speak at the nation’s top dental meetings throughout the United States and Canada.

Justin Klingshirn

Justin Klingshirn began his career with Bank of America in 2013 in Columbus, Ohio. In 2014, he moved to Austin, Texas, where he managed Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico and Arkansas. In 2020, Justin relocated again, to Southern California, where he helps dentists financing acquisitions and commercial real estate.

Matthew Chesler, DDS

Matthew Chesler, DDS earned his bachelors in Psychology at UCSD. He then went on to USC for his DDS degree in 2004. During his studies he received a faculty award for excellence in Endodontics. While at USC, Dr. Chesler received a full scholarship from the US Navy. He first reported for active duty to Camp Pendleton where he completed a one-year residency in Advanced Education in General Dentistry. Shortly afterwards, he became one of the youngest residents to ever be selected for the Endodontics residency program at the Naval Postgraduate Dental School in Bethesda, MD. He completed the program in 2008 and concurrently earned a postdoctoral Master of Science degree from The George Washington University, Washington, DC. After graduation, he reported to Pearl Harbor, Hawai’i as the Endodontics department head. Commander Chesler was transferred back to the San Diego area in early 2011 where he served as the head of the Endodontics department at Marine Corps Air Station, Miramar. In 2015 he separated from the Navy after eleven years of active duty, but is currently a Naval Reservist. He also routinely teaches hands-on continuing education courses across the country. He holds professional memberships with the American Dental Association, American Association of Endodontists, California Dental Association, and the San Diego County Dental Society. 

Trang Chesler, DDS

Trang Chesler, DDS earned her bachelors in Psychology at UCLA in Westwood, California. She then went on to cross‐town rival USC where she earned her Dental Hygiene degree. She continued on at USC where she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Dr. Chesler has remained academically active and up to date on the latest dental procedures and technologies. She annually attends continuing education conferences and seminars and stays abreast of the latest research by keeping up with multiple dental publications. She holds professional memberships with the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, and the San Diego County Dental Society. Dr. Chesler is also an active member of the Spear Education Study Club.

Paul Dougherty, DDS

Dr. Dougherty is married with three grown children. He has practiced General Dentistry in the San Diego area for over thirty years. He is a second-generation Dentist with a desire to give back to organized Dentistry and to help enable access and promote long-term care. When he is not practicing, Dr. Dougherty enjoys being very active with skiing, cycling, and golf.

Marissa Kristy

DEVELOPMENT OPERATIONS SPECIALIST

Marissa Kristy is a Southern California native who specializes in nonprofit administration and fundraising. She holds two degrees from Boston University: a Bachelor of Science in Communication and a Master of Science in Arts Administration. Recently returned from a ten-year jaunt to the East Coast, Marissa is glad to be back and looks forward to putting her  talents to use at SDCDF.
