Course Description:
This course is intended for associates and early-stage practice owners. Locating, buying, and running a dental practice comes with great opportunity but also great challenges. Ultimately, you want to deliver clinical dentistry with the quality you believe in. In addition, you want to create financial momentum in your early years so you achieve financial freedom early in your life. This course is designed to help you address the most important financial decisions you make early in your dental career and create strong financial momentum.
Learning Outcomes:
1. Associate Phase: A review of key financial decision you make as an associate; e.g. W2 v Contractor, Corporate or Private, Start-up v Buy, Addressing Student loans, buying a home, etc.
2. The Purchase Phase: Understanding the process of purchasing a practice and measuring the opportunities and risks with the target practice.
3. The New Ownership Phase: How to organize your practice finances to give valuable business insight, save in taxes, manage debt, optimize cash flow, and accelerate your financial independence.
Speaker: Wes Read CPA, CFP
Wesley Read is the founder of PracticeCFO, a financial planning and CPA firm specializing in practice owners. Wesley has been working with practice owners since 2007. Earlier in his career, Wesley had audited the financial statements of fortune 500 corporations during his employment at Ernst and Young LLP, the third largest accounting firm in the country. After his time with Ernst and Young, Wesley joined the wealth management division of Moss Adams Wealth Advisors LLC. Wesley worked with some of the industry’s top thinkers in managing approximately one billion dollars of client assets.
