How does a conscientious restorative dentist provide the best care with predictability and longevity? This course will provide a comprehensive overview of innovations and essential techniques for success in restorative dentistry. The use of clinical evidence from well-performed prospective clinical trials combined with significant experience gleaned from numerous study club, faculty and student cases provide the foundation for the recommendations and observations presented. Topics will include: surgical management of carious lesions, composites and adhesives, filling and polishing techniques, the indications for zirconia (bi-layered and monolithic) and glass–ceramic materials, cast gold and it’s use in a modern dental practice, and key occlusal considerations with all dental materials.
