WORKPLACE VIOLENCE PREVENTION PLAN TRAINING EMPLOYEES
California has recently passed legislation making it the 11th state to require employers to provide workplace violence prevention plans or training for their employees. This new law aims to safeguard dental practices and other workplaces through effective risk management strategies. Employers in California are now mandated to take proactive measures to prevent workplace violence and ensure the safety and well-being of their employees.
Workplace Violence Prevention Program Compliance
Compliance with the new legislation includes thorough documentation and record-keeping related to the WVPP. Employers must keep detailed records of all violence prevention efforts, including hazard identification and mitigation, training sessions, incident responses, and investigations. Examples of incident logs are included in the model Workplace Violence Prevention Plan published by Cal-OSHA. Violent incident logs are required to be kept by the employer for five years.
