Wellness Wednesday Series – Bicuspid Bootcamp
SDCDS knows that this year has had a significant impact on every aspect of our lives. As dentists, you wear many hats including healthcare professional, business person, parent, spouse etc. We want to ensure you are taking care of yourself as you navigate through the changes you’ve experienced. Join us every Wednesday for a different activity to enhance your physical and mental well-being. We will send out the zoom meeting information the day before each activity. You can register for every activity or pick and choose those you are interested in.
This week – Bicuspid Bootcamp w/ Brian White
What to Expect: Bicuspid Boot Camp will be a body weight exercise class, no equipment necessary. The class will be split into two distinct sections.
The first 30 minutes will be spent warming up the body with mobility exercises, dynamic stretching and functional movements specifically geared towards dentists. These exercises are targeted at dentists and their daily postures while at work. We will stretch the areas that hold tension for most dentists, we will strengthen the areas that are weakened from the daily movements and we will focus on strengthen your core.
After we have worked up a little sweat in the first 30 minutes, the second half the class we will build on the exercises we have already done and start to get the heart rate going. We will increase the intensity appropriately and get everyone moving. You can expect challenging full body strength moves mixed with some dynamic stretching.
The class is appropriate for all fitness levels. I always encourage everyone to push themselves a little bit out of their comfort zone, and not overdo it. If you are a beginner, you won’t fall behind and if you are seasoned athlete you won’t feel like you aren’t getting a workout. I hope to see many of you there!
BRIAN WHITE
Motivator, green smoothie scientist and grateful to be a personal trainer. Love living life in the “uncomfortable zone” because that’s where the best stuff happens.
